Bio
Carem Corvaia is an accomplished immigration attorney with over 10 years of experience in providing comprehensive legal representation to immigrants and international companies. As the founding attorney of Corvaia Law, P.A., Carem has a proven track record in handling complex immigration cases, advocating for policy reforms, and mentoring junior attorneys. She is a dedicated professional known for her strategic approach, cultural competency, and commitment to immigrant communities. Carem earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, FL, in 2011, where she made the Dean’s List and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review and Vice President of the International Moot Court. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Florida International University in Miami, FL, in 2005, earning multiple honors, including the Dean’s List, Tau Sigma National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and Golden Key International Honor Society.
In her role as the founding attorney at Corvaia Law, P.A., since 2014, Carem has managed all aspects of immigration cases from intake to resolution. She conducted legal research, navigated complex legal issues, and supported clients through the immigration process. She represented clients before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Department of Justice (Executive Office of Immigration Review). She advocated for immigration policy reforms in the state, educated immigrant communities, and provided mentorship and training to junior attorneys and staff. Previously, as a partner at Corvaia & Reyes, P.A. from 2011 to 2014, she represented clients with visa applications, green cards, naturalization, and asylum cases.
Furthermore, Carem was selected as one of Florida’s Super Lawyers-Rising Stars in 2023. She launched a podcast to share her knowledge in immigration law, and has also held several significant roles in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), including Chair of the Practice Management Committee for the AILA South Florida Chapter (2021-2023), Chair of the Driver Licenses and Motor Vehicle Committee for the AILA South Florida Chapter (2017- 2021), and Co-Chair of the USCIS Miami and Caribbean District for the AILA South Florida Chapter (2020-2021). She has also served as a panelist and author for the AILA South Florida Annual Conference (2021) and as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Legal Aid & Put Something Back Program (2011-2017). Carem is fluent in Spanish, and has basic proficiency in French.
